Verwood Girls FC was set up to provide football opportunities to girls in and around Verwood. Although we formed the club its members are very much the players!

It is up to us as parents and club volunteer’s to facilitate and organise this in the best way possible.

To access your childs team page click on the appropriate age group link under the "team page" title below. All team pages are password protected, parents are given log in details once registration form has been processed.

This page is for the parents to shape into whatever they think will be useful for all of you to use.

As the club has grown so much our method of communicating match, training and other information has had to evolve.

All communication will be via this site. All players and parents will be issued a password for their team page. Each Team Page has info about any upcoming matches or events. We ask that you visit this page every Tuesday and register your availability for the coming weekends fixture.

We would also appreciate that you have another quick look on the Friday evening just to check that there has been no venue changes or cancellations.

There is also a contact form that will send a message directly to your coach and manager that you can use to ask any questions.

Missed a payment or payments?

You may have noticed we are not particularly strict about collecting fees, we are much more interested in coaching!

We manage to keep delivering football to local girls by gaining sponsorship and having coaches that give up their time for free.

Fee's paid by parents cover around 25% of our expenditure on such things as:

County FA Registration/affiliation, Insurance, 3G bookings, Pitch hire. Match shirts and training equipment

So... If you think you may owe some fees a donation would be greatly appreciated!

Player Development

An FA review under the direction of Sir Trevor Brooking recommended the integration of all football in an effort to introduce a logical player development and coach education pathway for all.

Given the diversity of participation in football, The FA has decided to adopt an 8 stage model of Long Term Player Development (LTPD) as shown here. At VTYFC we focus in on stages 1 and 2 only:

This example describes an age appropriate development pathway over time. The recommendations for the younger age groups being aligned to the schools key stages wherever possible;

  • Stages 1-2: 5 to 11 year old primary school ages (small sided games played)

  • Stages 3-4: 11 to 16 year old secondary school ages (11 v 11 games played)

  • Fundamentals 5 to 8 years old Ages may overlap ± (This includes children in Reception year in school)

  • Enjoying practice 8 to 11 years old

The LTPD programme has a relationship with the 4 Corner development model, which includes

  • Technical Technique development - mastering the ball

  • Psychological Developing multiple life skills such as Communication, Teamwork, dealing with conflict and Learning from mistakes

  • Physical Physical development – athletic movement.

  • Social Creating the right environment, encouraging good behaviours, developing respect and building sustainable relationships

Through LTPD Players will be able to combine and effectively execute the correct technique, movement and decision on demand therefore transferring these components effectively into match-play.
