Just before we returned to training at the beginning of April we asked via a survey what our players wanted from the return of football.
The feedback was overwhelmingly clear that the girls had missed seeing friends and having fun more than anything else.
When asked 72% of players wanted our sessions to be pretty much as before. However, 28% did ask for it to be more game based.
We also asked when they would like competitive games to restart. This was due to the league wanting to start matches straight away. 10% of players wanted to start ASAP, 20% after 6 weeks of training and 70% early June. We are glad we waited as the league has had a record amount of issues and a lot of injuries.
We've continued to discus these options with the players over the last few weeks and it seems that there is an appetite to to start games in the next few weeks..... this is brilliant and what we all want!
So.... the next couple of weeks the training sessions will be a lot more game based in preparation for the upcoming matches and will have more of a "mini tournament" feel. Hopefully this will be the perfect preparation for upcoming matches!
